This ought to be a given upgrade for owners of the 1st edition, given the ease of seeing whether a side controls or merely influences a country. Coloured side up -- control/white side -- not so.

This 2006 Edition countersheet features one side showing Influence and the reverse side of the counter showing Control. Using these counters makes it much easier to tell at a glance which countries each side controls.
